A Leaving to Learn Excursion to BPL Belize

In 2013, Selena Lucas, mom of two and social worker by trade, decided that her children deserved a better education than what was available in her community. So she launched what is today known as Placencia Elementary, the first Big Picture Learning schools in the Caribbean.
Led by Loretta Logan, Placencia Elementary has become a premiere independent school in the country. Amongst all the things that make this school unique and special is its dedication to providing an exceptional learning environment that emphasizes the importance of community, culture and environmental stewardship as the basis for learning at all ages.
Join us for the Important Leaving to Learn Summit
Discover the vibrant culture, rich history and stunning natural beauty of Belize on this seven-day immersive Leaving to Learn, led by and featuring Placencia Elementary. In addition to experiencing deep learning at the school, this Belize Leaving to Learn will feature a visit to the historic Mayan Ruins of Nim Li Punit, time to bask in the beauty of the Moho Cayes and trips into Placencia Village.
