There's no place better we could imagine holding Big Bang 2025 - a celebration of three decades of learning through interests with students and their communities at the center - than the place where it all begin - Providence, Rhode Island!
Big Picture Learning was established in 1995 with the sole mission of putting students directly at the center of their own learning. It was around this time that the state of Rhode Island was re-examining its education system. BPL co-founders Dennis Littky and Elliot Washor merged their 30 years of experience as teachers and principals and their distinct reputations to propose a design - a bold new school dedicated to educating one student at a time. Big Picture Learning's very first school - The Met - was born.
If you've never had a chance to visit The Met (let alone Providence) - we have good news for you. Baked into this year's Big Bang experience is a visit to the school where it started. The same school which continues to be our flagship - one heralded by Presidents for its successful approach - and one which still lives the values that were present at its inception, those same values which are the cornerstone of BPL's design today - Advisory, Learning through Interests, and a deep commitment to partnering with the local Community.

If you are making your own reservations (not a part of a BPL contract), you can do so by using the above registration link or by calling The Omni Hotel reservations team: 1-402-952-6646. Our conference rate is $219 (plus taxes and fees). This rate is effective until June 27, 2025. Any reservations made after this date will be reserved at the current rate decided by the hotel upon availability..
Please note: If you are a part of a school contract with Big Picture Learning, hotel dates at the Omni covered in the cost of a full package registration (as well as the registration + hotel package) are Jul 21, 22, and 23 only. If you register with dates outside of this block, you will be charged for the additional nights upon departure.
Hotel cancellation policy: If unable to attend, you understand that you are responsible for canceling your hotel reservation within 72 hours prior to arrival. You understand the contract is responsible for any hotel charges after this date (or, the school contract will be charged if conference attendee does not cancel after this date)
